In 2001 we we told that an airport built in the Thames Estuary would be 12 times more likely to suffer bird strike than any major UK airport. The incidence of birdstrike has risen dramatically since 2001 so much so the Thames Estuary may now be even more dangerous than the 12 times we were first told ; The Birdstrike in the Hudson where two Canada geese brought down Flight 1549 prompted an interesting debate shown here
